<p>This is in regard to the MIT application. Under the "family at MIT" section where it asks for any family members who attended MIT, should I include my uncle, who dropped out of graduate school?</p>
<p>It won’t hurt. But it’s grad school, so it wouldn’t matter much anyways.</p>

<p>@MITChris: Knowing that legacy status does not matter - and hearing from you that it doesn’t matter what the OP decides to say - why even have the question on the app? Doesn’t its inclusion naturally breed suspicion that it matters? Aside from that, diagnostically, why would MIT want unused variables on the application?</p>
<p>honestly? not sure what the reason is. as far as i know it’s always been there and at this point it might just be path dependence.</p>
