My younger brother threw away my green card / ssn / passports mistakenly

I'm applying for spring admission for bmmc but feeling lost cause my green card is lost ..I know my green card alien number off hand and my ssn..The only form of Id I have is my new york state id..

You need to apply for a new one to replace the lost one. There is a form (I-90) that you can find online for this.

Yeah,I did but won’t get the green card before the admission died line

send a note explaining your situation and that you’ll submit copies of your perm resident card once replacement is rec’d. Colleges WANT to admit you, you know.

And, once you get these things, secure them in a locked safe so someone can’t “throw them away” (good heavens! How did THAT happen???)

This will be an expensive and time consuming issue for your parents. As you need it for all your applications and any hope of aid or scholarships, you need to get a move on. I really cannot imagine that this is a very likely scenario though. House burned down? Sure. Bank robbed? maybe. Thrown In the trash? Hmmph. A replacement is about 450$ per card. Get the process started today.

OP also need to his/her passport replaced ASAP. When OP has the passport, he/she may want to get an I-551 stamp on the passport. It may take USCIS up to a year to get the Green Card (I-151) replaced.

I think any college would find the OP’s claim highly suspect.

What to suspect? If OP files FAFSA, the U.S. Department of Education will confirm OP’s citizenship status.

Only if OP does not submit a FAFSA or the FAFSA process does not confirm OP’s citizenship status, he/she will need to provide the school the citizenship documentation.

It will be difficult as the OP has only been here since Feb, no tax return history, I assume a lottery GC because otherwise there would be a long paper trail. The worst case scenario is a long winded expensive process which wouldn’t be an issue if he wasn’t applying to colleges which have deadlines. Spring admit no less.

What is bmmc?
