Hi everyone - I applied EA to LMU and was deferred. I checked my admission status on MYLMU the other day and it said "Under Review" or something like that. However, now there is nothing under "Admission Status". No words at all. Is this simply a technical error, or could this mean anything more?

I am also able to access the financial portion of the website ("MYAID"). Perhaps this is any indication?

calikid: do a google-type search for PROWL within the webstite, it’s not easy to find.

I think being able to pay a deposit is a REALLY good sign that you’ve been accepted. It meant you were accepted on the U of Denver website. But as we all know, LMU’s software has been a bit glitchy this year. So, don’t count your chickens yet.

Did those of you with the status change submit your 1st semester HS grades update to LMU already? Just wondering-- my S was deferred as well but his transcript update wasn’t ready until Friday, and so should be mailed to LMU Monday. I will have him look at his status later today

I did request my grades from my school to be sent but they are usually behind so I would be shocked if they did send them out this week but they might have.

Yes, my kid’s 1st semester grades were sent about a week ago, and it looks like LMU received them. Maybe that’s the difference. Maybe now his application is considered complete, and that triggered the access to PROWL.

Calikid, my son had a fairly good chance of getting in, but by no means was it a sure thing. That’s why I hesitate to think too much of the online changes at this point.

“If you don’t mind me asking ^ but did you think you had a good chance off getting In? Do you think this change is what hopefully it means?”

I have a 30 ACT, excellent recommendations, really great essays, and have taken a challenging curriculum. I’m from Ohio, which I think is slightly under represented at LMU. I’m shocked I was deferred, but I applied to film production and they said it’s their most competitive major. I called a few weeks ago and told them that I don’t NEED to be in film production, and I would consider an acceptance in the finance major as well. I think this was really helpful - they added the information to my application materials. So yes, I think I have a good chance of acceptance.

This year, I am taking all Post-Secondary enrollment courses.

Thus far, I have been admitted to Fordham, Ohio State, University of Miami (FL), Miami University (OH), Hofstra, and Indiana University.

Honestly, I haven’t had the best experience with my LMU admissions process. The Dear Jorge emails, the fact that I got my MYPAW login mid-Jan even though I applied early action, I was deferred, and now my status is gone. I know there’s technical problems, but I guess I just expect a little more.

Imagine I put down “…and that’s why I want to go to Pepperdine” in my essay to LMU. They would throw my app away immediately. Yet, if they call us Jorge, We’re supposed to shake it off.
Anyone else find this odd?

Same is happening with me. I was originally deferred EA and now my application status is gone (although it was “Under Review” a couple days ago), I have access to all of MyAid, and I am now able to pay my enrollment deposit as well as my housing deposit. This looks like it could be a great sign!!!

Good luck to all of you-- I hope that it is a good sign. DS didn’t look at his status yet-- since his first semester grades won’t get there until the end of this week I imagine his won’t have changed yet

I didn’t apply EA. I missed the deadline by about a week. I hadn’t heard anything other than the “Dear Jorge” email until Monday when they gave me info on the MyLMU login. I set it up and checked my app status and it said something like “Under Review.” I looked at it every day this week and always “Under Review.” Then on Friday I got an email about financial aid and how to check awards. I didn’t look at it right away, but then yesterday I thought I’d check it out. I had to go thru the MyLMU anyway, so I checked my admission status, and it said “Admitted”! I have not gotten an email or regular mail to confirm this, but there it is. Pretty low fanfare, if you ask me, but good news anyway. No first semester grades have been sent either as transcripts were just updated at my school on Friday.
