We were discussing, in my English class today, the effect of sites like Myspace and Facebook on college admissions/job searches. I didn't see the article :( but it was about how, apparently, college admissions officers and job interviewers were checking out prospective students'/employees' myspaces. does anyone have the text online somewhere?

i'm kind of wondering how they find people on myspace, what with different usernames, etc.

and a related anecdote - a teacher actually left my school because of myspace. he had posted some rather..suggestive pictures on myspace, half of which were taken when he was drunk i think, which lead to some crazy free-sex website...which students at school found. as a result, he was either fired or resigned. that sucks to lose your job bc of that, huh?

You can search myspace by name. Not sure about facebook though.

this is what i got...but it says nothing about facebook o_0
ahh thts scary how admissions officers can search your myspace or facebook. in a way its better because they can see your..fun side, i guess. and in a million more ways its bad because they can see you swear and stuff. erggggh haha.

I don't have anything bad on my myspace, so it wouldnt harm me in any way... but its wierd having people be able to find us online. heh, i had a friend who lives in singapore (the other side of the world!) google me and find some videos about me from the school...
