Name Your Political Orientation II

shas: I agree with you upon the fact that kids should decide for themselves about "where thay want to go in life" however, how will they truly know if their parents aren't there to guide them, and I do not see why it is wrong for parents to help their childeren sort out the many difficult situations in their life, after all this is what parents are supposed to do.

Yes but not every situation. Yes, we all need our parents here and there but I meant we shouldn't expect it or rely on them for help. It should be a seldom thing.

common misunderstanding, perhaps?

Craze they make mistakes and learn from them. they steal from a store, they go to Jail, they learn from it.

Stop babying you kids, your a pathetic parent if you do. My parents cut me off when I turned 18. I'm glad they did, compared to how much I see others dependent on their parents.

Oh yeah, if you did the correct job as a parent the first 18 years, then you wouldn't have to worry about your child, they wouldn't be a concern. By the right job, being that you taught them what they needed to know and what to do in certain citations. Thats what being a parent is about, because you guys are so dam attached to them and wont let them go, means that you did a **** poor job and are scared that you didn't do your job.

Ooooooo I Like! Lol!

I still don't see why parents cannot be on this forum?
1) Some like to give advice to kids that come on here looking for help. If you have watched parent vs student posting, usually the parents posts are better written and much more knowledgable.
2) It is an internet forum, something to kill time with. Why not this one? Intelligent folks, common interest, good conversationists.
3) For parents that have 18- children, they can gain insight for their children who may not be as involved with the college process as some CCers. No problem giving some help to your kids...they are kids in fact.

shas: thats your perspective, I guess mine's just different.
