Narrowing the Search - Need to pick your collective CC brains :-)

ColoradoMam, thanks - we’ll check out Rollins - although she’d really like to leave Florida. (I was a Virginia gal and couldn’t wait to go to UF for the warm, sunny weather. Now of course, my daughters wants the seasons!)

NEPatsGirl, that’s great info about Vanderbilt and Princeton. I’m not remarried, so I’m not sure if that makes a difference… Vanderbilt checks off a lot of boxes, while Princeton is on our Hail Mary list!

@rosered55 The student skipped a grade so her twin brother is a year behind her. So year one, one kid in college, year 2,3,4 maybe two kids in college at the same time.

If you haven’t already, go ahead and run Vandy’s Net Price Calculator. It will give you a sense of how much aid they would offer. You can also run it with “2” in college, to get a sense of how that aid would change when your 2nd enrolls into college.

Maximizing the time both are co-currently enrolled in college is best from an aid standpoint, but sometimes life doesn’t work out that way.

Note, most schools offer a net price calculator. Here’s Princeton’s:

Check Vandy carefully. IIRC, they don’t require the non-custodial parent Profile, but they do sometimes ask for additional information, including NCP, later. Sometimes.

University of Chicago requires the FAFSA plus a very short U of Chicago form. No non-custodial parent info required. Would that satisfy her interests?
