If we were recognized as National Merit Finalists, should we update admissions or does it not really matter?

i was just recognized also, and i decided not to update admissions, as a majority of the semifinalists become finalists. i just didn't feel like it was a huge difference and therefore did not necessitate an update.

Yale is not a sponsoring university. Do you think it matters to them if an applicant submits another school that IS a sponsor? They wont even know about it or care, right?

I asked my D's college counselor about this and they said that you should put a school that sponsors the National Merit as your first choice even though Yale is her first choice.

Thanks - exactly what she needed to know!

Way back when, I put my actual top choice on the forms. I ended up getting a scholarship that coud be used at any school. What if you end up with a scholarship at your non-first choice school that can only be used at that school?

it was one of many things i updated them with
