hey i was reading an article and it says that out of the 16,000 finalists, each must submit an application, high school record, sat scores) is this true? so im assuming you must take the sat? anybody here national merit semifinalists or finalists that took the act instead? and, when do you list your first choice school? before you take the test or when you become finalist status?

It is all right here.......use your finger and find out.

i just read it before i posted the thread, im just clarifying if thats alright?

You cannot take the ACT. If you want to be a finalist, you must first meet the PSAT cutoff criteria for your state. Then you have to fill out the application, get recommendations from your school, send a transcript and submit SAT scores. The reality is, the NM program is run by College Board which is the company that does the SAT. ACT is done by another company. College Board wants you to use their product, not the competitors.

thanks for the help!
