Just curious: do you guys think that fewer people will apply to west coast schools like Cate and Thacher because of the recent wildfires and mudslides in California?
No more than people avoid other states because of hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods.
I doubt there will be a decline in the # of applicants…
Some of us can dream, but alas, no I don’t think so…
I wouldn’t think so as if a student attends one of those schools in California, the school isn’t forcing the students to stay there in the area while there is a wildfire happening, they will evacuate the students (and horses) so that they’re safe, and the applicants know that, so they aren’t going to just not apply to one of those schools, especially if it was their first choice, because of wildfires. Besides, there’s always a chance for wildfires in California, so you’re always choosing to take that risk if you live there or go to school there.
