I guress my biggest question is if A) my eyesight disqualifies me from being a pilot and B) my gender disqualifies me from doing subs, SEALS, or Marine infantry, what are the other options? They didn't go into a whole lot of detail during Summer Seminar, and I just remember SWO being something it seemed like I would qualify for...and so many people talk about being pilots or SWO I'm not totally sure what other options there are. There has to be engineering, etc, correct? Since those are some of the degrees people graduate with?

Some of the ones that spring to mind:

SWO
Supply Corps
Intel
Oceanography
General Unrestricted Line (GURL)

I'm not sure if you can select EDO (Engineering Duty Officer) straight from USNA.

mids are getting eye surgery junior year. pilot is not ruled out

Man, I wish that had been an option in 1991! :(

Just think...... Eye surgery, and unlimited pilot billets (like in 1989).....

I'm going to go cry.... :(

Is the PRK surgery a highly competitive thing where only a few mids each year get it out of a few hundred or so who apply or is it more like USAFA where they hand them out as long as you are otherwise pilot qualified?

I recently met a female academy grad who is the chief supply officer for an LHA...a huge amphibious ship. This is no easy job....so that is definitely one kind of billeting available.

Anybody know the answer?
