How do you setup mypack portal?
The main thread for 2026 EA has all the instructions spelled out if scroll to the start of the day. I think people feel like tomorrow may be the day decisions are released because of activity in the portals.
My daughter has had a great year so far and loves the school and most all of her classes. She recently decided to switch majors from SW to Sociology. She has decided that she is more interested in the research side rather than clinical. She will also be able to graduate a year early due to credits she has coming in. She wants to go straight into either a masters or doctorate program.
The advisor she met with prior to committing has left NCSU and that was a huge disappointment - the new advisor she got was less than helpful. She did love her SW class last semester but there wasn’t much of any support as far as what classes to take and when.
Feel free to message me if you have any other questions - my daughter is very happy at State! I can also ask her questions if there are other campus specific questions.
Best of luck!
Thank you so much for getting back to me! Glad your daughter loves NCSU and has her new path set. Although the advisor experience was disappointing, it’s great NCSU is large enough to change majors and allow credits coming in.
I appreciate the offer on more questions, too. Hopefully later today the AED will be correct. Take care!
Any honors and scholars students that can answer if freshman honors students have early access still to register for classes. I’ve heard it’s only a couple of hours before open registration now and it doesn’t make much of a difference. Is that true? That is a big perk to take on the extra work and classes of the honors program so would make it more worth while. Thank you!!
My understanding is that Honors registration is significantly early to make a difference (esp. for Freshmen).
At the break out meeting on admitted students day the head of honors and scholars department head said it’s not much sooner maybe a couple of hours doesn’t make much difference. She said it wasn’t fair to graduate students and seniors if freshman brand new were able to get classes at the same time.
Wouldn’t expect Freshman would register before upper classmen…but a few hours before rest of class is significant.
I would agree. I just started to wonder because the honors head said it wasn’t… maybe she is trying to discourage people from participating in honors just for early registration.
