NC State Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

Do we have an idea what time today the decisions are coming out?

Yeah - even suggests how to apply to test optional for a given score. We also bought an essay review which was helpful.

End of school day usually. No guarantees.

It gives a percent so when you say it has been accurate, what percent do you consider accepted?

Same here. Withdraw Button is still there. DD OOS is an Aerospace Engineering Major applicant. Hopeful, but, very realistic!

It shows general acceptance rate but also expected rate given student’s inputted scores, grades, rank, and extracurriculars (essays are not factored). It also groups schools into reach, hard target, target, and safety. So far schools above 50% have been admissions for us. Reach schools has meant no or waitlist.

FYI-there was a discussion on previous years where people were able to log into their student portal
but was still deferred

Good luck to everybody! You are all very tallented and should be very proud of your accomplishments. There are many different paths that can be utilized for your career goals.

Right, the portal account is not the indicator of acceptance – it’s the AED.

GL all! Let’s hope they release today.

Should we look for the option to make the AED deposit, and the “congratulations” to indicate if we have been accepted?

Yep, that’s pretty much a guarantee that you’ve been accepted.

Screenshot info from another NRCA email:

Likely release today. 25K applicants for EA an 8% increase. EA acceptance rate 47%. 50% submitted test scores. GPAs are up, middle 50% 4.25-4.5 Weighted 3.86-4.0 unweighted. Competitive majors this year Management (1K more applicants with no additional spots), Psyc, Animal Science, Life Science First Year (Bio, Chem, Nutrition etc).

Engineering adding 150 new spots this year.

NC State defers a lot. (Can confirm my UNC Senior was deferred from NCSU and graduation Phi Beta Kappa). Deferred students receive a response March 30th.

Thank you for sharing this! Good information.

My son is a freshman at Virginia Tech–he was deferred at both NC State and VT and was accepted to both. I really think admissions can be a crap shoot.

Good to hear. My son applied to Tech at well
Feb 15 is their drop date.

I’m majoring in Social Work and have a WGPA of 4.24 and UGPA of 3.94. Did not send test scores. I have many extracurriculars and clubs. I hope I have a chance?

My GPA is 4.1 unweighted and 4.9 weighted and majored in Life Science. I have many EC and sports. Do I have a chance?

Last year, I think it started around 4:30, but it rolled through the evening. Don’t fret if you don’t hear as soon as others do. I don’t think we could figure out any pattern by college/name/state, etc for how it was released. I do remember parents being super anxious and their kids were working and couldn’t check their emails. HA! Good luck everyone! My son is a freshman and loving it so far.

Withdrawal button just disappeared. Could that mean rejection?

Oh my! I hate seeing all the stress and pressure these kids are putting themselves through! You all are remarkable for having the courage, grades and activities to apply to State! It is so much harder to get into college now than for your parents. All of you will end up exactly where you’re meant to be and have a wonderful future no matter the school! I fully expect my daughter to get a deferral tonight. That’s ok! It will sting a little but she will end up at one of the 8 other schools she’s been accepted to. It is an accomplishment to get into college these days
whether it’s State or somewhere else!
