I am trying to find the right school to finish my Bachelors degree. New College of Florida interests me because of the essay based curriculum I have heard so much about. I have always resented feeling as though I am being taught only to get a good grade on the next test.
The only reason I am at all hesitant to transfer to NCF is because of its reputation for being a druggie school. Id really appreciate hearing more about the social life at New College and especially how students balance work and play.

NCF is no more of a “druggie” school than any other college (maybe less so in reality)…a student would not make it past the first semester if they’re completely into that lifestyle. Maybe people think the students are like that because individualism is accepted and not everyone is dressed like a prep. Just because there are no traditional grades, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to work hard to fulfill your course requirements.

NCF students work hard during the week, but on weekends there are campus-wide parties that everyone is welcome to attend. Most students tend to stay on campus and there are plenty of activities going on to keep busy with.
