NCSSM Class of 2016 Chance???

I am a freshman in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area, and I'm applying to NCSSM (North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics) for the class of 2016. My best subjects are math and science, but I'm a little weak in English. Here are the classes I took freshman year, and their respective grades:

Concert Band - A
Spanish 1 - A
Honors Algebra 2 - A
PE/Health - A
Honors English 1 - B
Honors Earth/Environmental Science - A
Honors World History - B
Advanced Literacy Concepts (Advanced English course, but I only took it because it's an extra honors class) - B

GPA - 3.625 uw. and 4.25 w.

Sophomore classes - so far, all A's

Symphonic Band (Honors) - A
Honors Precalculus - next sem
Honors Biology - A
Honors Civics and Economics - A
PLTW Intro to Engineering Design (weighted as a 6.0 course) - A
PLTW Principles of Engineering (weighted as a 6.0 cou)
Spanish 2 - A
Honors English 2 - A

Here are the extracurricular activities I was involved in freshman year:

Speech and Debate
Science Olympiad
Chess Club (not really a club, but I participate in some tournaments on behalf of my school)
Freshman Council

Yeah, I know I'm not doing as much as some other people, so I'm stepping up the game next year. These are the clubs I'm signing up for 10th grade:

Speech and Debate
HOSA
Sophomore Council
Math Honor Society
Science Olympiad
Environmental Club
Chess
Marching Band
... and I will try out for tennis/golf

And also, I volunteer at my Middle School's Science Olympiad team. I volunteered at Discovery Place over the summer and acquired 150 hours.
One more thing, I LOVE math, and even though I'm only in Algebra 2, I have great knowledge of calculus, and even help some of my junior and senior friends with their calculus homework. In eight grade, I placed 6th in Astronomy, 5th in Road Scholar, and 2nd in Dynamic Planet in NATIONALS for Science Olympiad.

-scored 21 on AMC 8 in seventh grade, honor award for top 5%

That's about it, it would be really helpful if I could get some tips from Juniors or Seniors who are already at the school, or students who have already graduated. The thing I'm worried about most is my GPA... so I'd love it if I could also know the "stats" of the students who go or went to NCSSM.
I may be sounding desperate, but I am. I reaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyyy want to go to that school.

btw NCSSM is a really prestigious boarding school in NC and only about a quarter of applicants get in, but my district (Mecklenburg county) is extremely competitive.

also, I'm taking the SAT in December and plan on scoring between 1900-2100.

THANKS!!!

UPDATE

I took the Math Level 1 Sat Subject test and scored 760… Should I include that???

Or will they just think I went out too easy and took level one instead of level two

Haha, I was about to say that you couldn’t apply as a freshman but I kept on reading your post and I guess that’s a typo? They don’t take into consideration your SAT subject test scores, I don’t think. Your three Bs from freshman year probably aren’t the best thing to have, but it looks like you’re doing better your sophomore year, which is great!
I honestly can’t give any advice, since I’m applying this year, as well, lol… but best of luck!

Don’t know much about north carolina, but if it’s to top science and math school in ur state, ur 21 amc8 score isn’t that competitive.

Hello,

I am a current student at NCSSM and wanted to share some serious words of wisdom since I know the application is out right now.
It’s not all about doing THE MOST or having the highest test score, although for your congressional district those things are important. You need to show that you are dedicated to something larger than yourself and that you have been doing an activity consistently, not just doing clubs or sports to put on your application. Being at NCSSM is about being intelligent, but it is also about showing that you are mature enough to be here and that you will contribute to the NCSSM experience, and not just be a person who stays in their dorm room and does work all the time. If you have any questions for the application just shoot me a message. I am very close to the ladies in the admissions office, so I can give you or anyone else reading this a few tips.
