from last year

Does anyone know if we are supposed to receive our letter by the 20th, or if that’s when they are being mailed?

I addressed this in another thread, and my information is based on what I’ve seen the past few years. The last couple of years, letters have been mailed the Thursday before ND went on break. That would be the 19th this year. The website says “by Christmas” in one spot and “mid December” in another, so that would fit. I’m not basing this on any inside info at all, just what I’ve seen the past few years. I could be wrong and they could go out this week, but my gut tells me next week. I’d check Twitter and/or FB. They usually post on there when decisions have been mailed. Good luck and try to relax!

Thank you so much!

did you guys apply anywhere else ea or ed?

My daughter applied EA to Gtown and BC as well. Notre Dame is her first choice.

I’m going to be out of town when they send out the letter…for a good 10 days after, any chance I can get the decision online??

I don’t think decisions are available online for anyone other than international applicants.

Anybody else feel like peeing every time you think that we could possibly know the decisions in two days?

@themoonchild you can’t get it online but my friend had this problem one year (different school) and she called in advanced asking if she could call admissions for her decision after they were sent/received and they made sure to make a note of it

my friend wasn’t home to get his letter last year, so he called them and they immediately emailed him his decision.

Really hoping the letters are mailed out soon. Still, I just know that I am going to end up scrutinizing the decisions for all of the South Bend/Chicago kids and depress myself :(

Well I’m in the Chicago area so as soon as I get my letter, I’ll be sure to let you guys know!

Thank you so much! I wish they email us an update. Anyone know if they’ve done this in the past?

I don’t think they generally email an update. Last year on the 10th or so they tweeted that they were “getting close” then late in the day on the 12th they posted that letters were out.

FYI: I don’t know if this will change, but when I called they said they were coming out on Tuesday, the 17th. This would make more sense to me than the 19th, since the college is pretty clear that kids will get their decisions by Christmas, and letters going out on the 19th would be a pretty close thing.

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, I believe admissions will hold to the date they told me of the 17th. I really hope so, anyway, since my daughter and I may not still be breathing for much longer of this suspense!!!

The admissions office just tweeted: “Still on track to mail EA decisionsthis week. #ND2018” UGH! That does not sound like the mailing date is tomorrow.
