I am extremely interested in the Notre Dame Summer Leadership Seminar titled “Global Issues: Towards a Just Peace”. I was wondering if anyone has been through the program and/or has an opinion on it.
Specifically, the following list is what I have been wondering. I’d appreciate any help or guidance that you can provide- whether it be for just one of the questions or all of them.
Do you recommend the program?
How much free time do you have?
How challenging is it?
How much partying goes on?
Do you have enough time to bond with other students and make friends?
What was your favorite and least favorite part of the program?
What other similar programs do you recommend?
Thank you so much for any help you can provide!! I really appreciate it!
The students I know that got accepted to the Summer Scholars program really enjoyed it - it is both academic but also interactive. I think you get to know a lot of your fellow participants and sometimes get to go on field trips. You also live on campus.
My older daughter attended this and loved it. It’s not all that challenging and there was plenty of time to hang out. They didn’t party (I assume you mean drinking) but formed very close friendships. She is a junior there now and still is good friends with people who she met there and also attend ND. I will say that I think they are focusing more on diversity for this than maybe they used to. Good luck!
