Need Advice on Accounting Internships

Hi everyone,

So I'm currently a junior in the accounting world's eyes, so will have completed 150 units by the end of my senior year next year if I stay on this track. I understand that accounting internships are absolutely crucial for landing full time positions, especially in big 4 regards, and I only got one second round interview with a national firm which ended up denying me an offer. I thought the interview went really well and that I clicked with all the interviewers.

My overall GPA is 3.8, accounting being a 4.0. I'm involved in Accounting Society/Beta Alpha Psi, and have work experience over the years (however, none that relate directly to accounting, more dealing with customer service/retail).

My question to you is, should I just tough it out, stay on this current path I'm on, and try to find some sort of bookkeeping position this summer that will give me a little bit of accounting experience in the real world? Even if it's unpaid. OR should I extend my graduation date a semester so I have one more summer, making me a junior again next year.

I'm just really worried about my future after graduation and I'm trying to figure out the best possible path.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice!
