I was recently accepted into UCLA with Biochemistry as my academic major. I was planning on going on to medical school to become a physician but I am not sure if that is what I would like to do. I have some interest in computer science and engineering, but I'm not sure if that is for me either (I'm in Java programming right now, it's seems alright). Which field would you suggest me to go into? Which one has greater scope and how can I discover what is right for me? Thanks in advance guys.

do what you really enjoy and major in something that’ll give you an opportunity to do what you’re interested in.
volunteer at a hospital to see if you like a career in the medical field - you’ll have access to one the best hospitals in the west coast at UCLA.
during your first few quarters, take some introduction courses in computer science and engineering.
if you’re smart enough and if you still can’t decide between med school and engineering, be an engineering pre-med, but doing so might kill your chances of getting a close to 4.0 GPA that med school absolutely requires, unless of course you’re one of those genuises.
both physician and engineers have very good job prospects, even in a recession. but when all’s said and done, i think most people prefer doing something they’re passionate about instead of doing something just for the prestige and money
