Hello all! I just got admitted off the waitlist at Vassar College and am trying to make a decision between Vassar and UNC Chapel Hill. I would like to know the differences between each school in academics, social life, prestige, and overall vibe. The cost would be basically the same, so money isn’t a factor. I would also like to know which school is better for pre-med and biochemistry!
Thanks!!!
Both excellent schools. The obvious difference is would you rather attend a small LAC or a large public?
I agree- you will need to decide whether you want a small LAC or a large public. The best way that I can describe the vibe at UNC… is “eclectic.”
pick university of north carolina
Both will give you everything you want academically, and they are not meaningfully different in prestige. But as most of the other posters are saying: they are very very different experiences in almost every dimension: climate, number of students, social life, etc. Have you visited both? If so, trust your instincts and go with the one at which you feel most at home.
