Need help choosing college. USA or Japan?

First time posting in CC. Sorry if i made any mistakes.

About me: my intended major is Finance. My SAT score is 2030, my TOEFL is 102.

I am currently a highschool Senior in Vietnam. Recently i got accepted to 2 colleges. One is Texas Christian University in USA. The other is Nagoya University G30 Program in Japan.

TCU offered me 100% tuition fee scholarship. And while Nagoya doesn’t offer me any forms of finacial aid (actually there is a high chance of getting a living expenses aid from the Japanses Goverment), tuition fee and living expenses are much cheaper. So in terms of finance, going to both schools almost cost the same amount of money.

Both schools have fairly great reputation from what i have searched on the internet.

Right now i am leaning more towards Nagoya university because i feel like i can fit more into Japanese enviroment. But I want to hear more opinions  All opinions are greatly appreciated.

You should choose the place that is most likely to get you a job in your own country after you graduate.

If you study in the US, you will be able to work here for a maximum of 12 months with an extension on your student visa. After that, you will have to leave. It will be almost impossible for you to find an employer who can get a work (H-1B) visa for you.

I do not know anything about work permission in Japan. You need to find out about that.

thanks for the insight, is it really that hard? I didn’t know about that

Yes, it really is that hard to get a work visa here. You also need to know that in order to get a student visa for the US, you must present believable evidence that you intend to return home after completing your studies. If the visa officer who does the interview thinks that you don’t plan to go home, you won’t get your visa.

Have you ever travelled/lived in Japan? If not you should consider the xenophobia that surrounds corporate promotions. It is very difficult for a non-japanese to be promoted within a Japanese company. If you want to stay and settle in Japan then this makes a big difference. If you want to leave Japan and go elsewhere then it may not be a big issue.

Also take into account the difficulty of learning the Japanese language.

I also wish to apply for Nagoya univ. ndqh12679 will you be able to tell me some details like essay overview and interviews procedure? It seemed to need to be engaged in lot of extracurriculars as mentioned in admission procedure?
