Need help choosing safeties; Computer Engineering aspirant

That is why folks come here, extra set of eyes to avoid the common oops.

Lol. Sorry mate ;).

Alright then.

It’s most probably going to be -

 1. Purdue
 2. Rochester Instt Tech
 3. Virginia Tech
 4. U Washington
 5. WPI/IIT/Mich Tech/Ohio State

So you have RIT as a safety above UW? Is that it?

Umm, the first 4 are in no particular order .. RIT and Purdue have easy apps .. that’s why they’re at the top :).

UWash has a very un-NYU like campus. It’s beautiful and green. No cars.

Penn State and UW-Seattle are not really safety schools.

While it’s true that “Purdue is fast and easy with a quick turn around”, their engineering program is selective. That is, you may be admitted to Purdue but not in engineering. The same is true for UIUC.

Btw, UW-Seattle will only admit you to pre-engineering. You will have to apply again to CSE during your sophomore year and it can be quite competitive.
