Need help figuring out medical school timeline

So I was planning on taking the MCAT in mid January 2012. However looking at the MCAT testing dates for 2011, the earliest they have it is January 28, 2011. Assuming the 2011 test dates are just as similar to the 2012 test dates, I don't think I can take it in early-mid January. As a result, I was planning on taking it again in May 20th. I want to be able to spend 3 weeks at home before I take the exam. My semester is usually over in early may, so if I take the test in mid May. Would that be too late?

When is the earliest the AMCAS application can be submitted? After I get my MCAT scores back, how long will it take AMCAS to process it? When is the earliest that the TMDAS application can be submitted? How long will it take TMDAS to process the application?

I plan on applying to TMDAS schools and AMCAS schools because Texas medical schools are a bargain once you establish residency. Currently my home state is the district of columbia, so there aren't very many medical schools that I can be considered in-state for.

It would be best for me to take the MCAT on Jan. 13-14, right before my winter break is over, but the earliest date on 2011 was Jan. 28th. =(

What should I do? Just take it in May 20-25?

i took the jan date. its good. class hasnt gotten hard yet, so you can focus on mcat. never ever plan on retaking the mcat. dont even get into that mindset.

amcas can be submitted at the start of june. tmdsas opens in may. processing takes anywhere from a couple of days to weeks.
