I recently left a liberal arts school due disciplinary problems and it wasn’t the best fit for me. I am planning on transfering soon and I wanted to know what are some medium sized colleges between 5,000 to 15,000 kids with a good social life and aren’t too keen on dicsplinary records. Thank you.
What are your stats, budget?
Were the disciplinary problems serious?
I’m in the process of transferring after CC. A small, public LAC actually requested to see our disciplinary records. This is not a competitive college. If your record holds something serious, you may want to look at a state directional or CC.
What was the disciplinary issue and did you get expelled or were allowed to withdraw?
Maybe you should focus more on academics and less on your social life.
What’s your budget? How are your stats? Do you know how the suspension and withdrawal are listed on your transcript?
Budget is upto 50k and the suspension and the withdrawal are both listed as withdrawls on my transcript. I have a 3.0.
What state do you live in? Do you have a geographic preference?
Suspensions and subsequent withdrawals are looked at very carefully and with a 3.0 GPA, the file will more than likely go to committee. What have you done to redeem yourself? What will your application for transfer look like? Have you done anything to make you a more attractive applicant?
How many credits have you earned so far?
Would you consider taking a year at a community college to earn your Associates degree and then apply to another 4 year degree school? This might give you an opportunity to show how serious you are about earning a Bachelors.
Good luck to you!
