Not sure where to start or draw inspiration from, I was thinking about writing about how my taste in music has changed with the different environments I have been in. If you have any ideas or are willing to share how you got started on your essays… please share, I’d really really appreciate it.
I think that that could be a good essay, about the music pertaining to your environments. That sounds like a pretty unique essay imo
I tried something similar for one of my first drafts. I personified all the cities I’ve lived in: a pimply, teenaged haggler for Bangalore, a hipster who tries to pretend they didn’t care too much about what others think for Seattle, etc.
I concluded with something unfortunately cheesy about how it takes a village to raise a child and all these people (cities) had raised me. I would not recommend that.
I decided not to use the essay about cities because I’m planning to apply to Brown and I don’t want to repeat information. Besides, I found a more compelling answer now.
Anyways, to answer question, I started putting down characteristics of different cities. (I suppose you would do it for the environments around you). Then I compared it to a list of my characteristics. I didn’t arrange them (chronologically, or otherwise).
