I am currently a freshman in high school. The following is my schedule for next year (most rigorous available):
PreAP Algebra II
PreAP English II
PreAP German III
PreAP Chemistry
PreAP Physics
Junior Varsity Tennis
*PreAP Computer Science
*Intro to Engineering

As you can see, it is flawed.

I need to choose between PreAP Computer Science and Intro to Engineering.
PreAP Computer Science - one year satisfies the required technology credit, the next year if you continue becomes AP Computer Science and you are able to take the AP Computer Science test.

Intro to Engineering - two years of engineering courses satisfies the required technology credit. One year could be taken over this summer if I wanted to.

I am very tech-savvy. I build high-end computers and I also build and program robots. However, my future career will most likely be in medicine.

Whichever I choose to eliminate will be replaced with AP World History.

I personally asked my counselor if I could be placed in PreAP Physics. Traditionally, on an honors path, people here take Bio, then Chem, then Physics, so they are taking Physics as a junior, whereas I will be taking Physics as a Sophomore, meaning I will be 1 year ahead of everyone else. Is this an okay move or am I leading myself to my doom? Science is my favorite subject and my average in Biology should be a 97-100. I got a C-B in PreAP Geometry the first semester when we were doing proofs, and I am going to get a high 90 this semester.

If you’re going to be pursuing a career in medicine then do not even bother with engineering. Also, doesn’t your school require you to do a history class each year meaning AP World would be a mandatory thing? Well, if not, then this should be your schedule:

PreAP Algebra II
PreAP English II
PreAP German III
PreAP Chemistry
PreAP Physics
JV Tennis
PreAP Computer Science

If a history class IS required then replace PreAP Comp Sci with AP World and push PreAP Comp Sci to next year and do AP Comp Sci in 12th grade.

Well, if you go into medicine, you could examine bioinformatics or the usefulness of bioengineering, biomedical engineering, medicinal engineering, etc.

and AP Computer Science is a joke. I actually could’ve taken the test this year, because our PreIB course teaches the same stuff as the AP Course.

^ I don’t think the course offered to him is actually that type of engineering. It is most likely related to mechanical and electrical engineering as with most other schools.

The schedule includes 8 classes, and history is required. I am asking which class should I take out to put in AP World History, Engineering or Comp Sci?

Yeah I was a little angry that the engineering class I took this year was an introduction to mechanical and electrical engineering instead of a survey of different types of engineering.

Take out intro to engineering. It won’t really get you anywhere.
And yes it is okay for you to take physics as a sophomore. My school goes from bio to chem to physics (or APs) too, but some kids take the courses over the summer. So right now I have this one sophomore in my physics class. We make fun of him a lot for being the only sophomore lol
