Undoubtedly, Davis is my top choice to pursue my undergraduate studies and dedicate myself to the community.

As I have a strong passion for high energy and nuclear physics, Davis provides me a lot of opportunities to do researches. During summer vacation, I can participate in Research Experience for Undergraduate program and other research programs to work with faculty and graduate students on nuclear physics and experimental particle physics research. With unparalled facilities such as LUX detector, I can get the most accurate data on neutrino from the experiments and analyze them with research groups. I will get a large amount of research experience, valuable interpersonal communication skills and useful experimental knowledge. These programs will help me a lot to achieve my goal of finding a feasible way to generate nuclear fusion.

Also, I can greatly contribute to Davis community and enrich its diversity.
As a first generation Chinese immigrant, I know the both Chinese and American culture. I can share Chinese culture and my immigration experience with my classmates to let more people understand the China and new immigrant’s life. As an active and warm-hearted person, I will vigorously take part in community service such as librarian volunteer, blood donator and unpaid tutor to make Davis a more harmonious home.

but work more on-what i can bring to davis communitt-paragraph. Blood donor, liberian…is stuff you do in high school and anyone can do,therefore not very impressive. Try talking more about joining clubs/associations that relate to your heritage or acquiring a volunteer-leadership role at a chinese elderly home and such.(just ideas)

Thank you. I will find more clubs and association in davis. Talk more about how to develop my leader ship. Thank you for your helpful advice!!! :):):):)

As a first generation Chinese immigrant, I clearly understand the economic and social situation of new immigrants. I can run for senate in ASUCD to represent Chinese immigrant students and let the community know their problems. Moreover, I will vigorously participate in events in cross cultural center not only to make friends with multi-cultural people and learn their cultures, but also to show them the beauty and antique of Chinese culture.

“diversity”. I think the “what can you bring” part is a bit too vague. Also, the diversity bit doesn’t really fit in because of how many Asian Americans there already are in Davis. Instead talk about some points that make you unique and stand out.
Just my 2 cents

UC Davis doesn’t need anymore Asians. Haha.

They ask you to bring in new information or stuff that they don’t know about you. Talk about something unique. Like, if you started some club in high school and plan to do something similar at Davis. Also, I think you should focus on one thing that you can bring to Davis, something you’re really, and this is cliche but true, passionate about.

I didn’t take my waitlist essay seriously so I don’t really care if I get accepted or not. Good luck to you tho! (:
