I am a avid CC reader- have learned so much from these forums! I need some specific help finding a course- turning to the experts!

My 2013- grad- to be- DD needs a Probability & Statistics class to get her degree. The class is only offered even # years at her school, and she did not pass the 2012 effort. The University is allowing her to take the class elsewhere. It was 300 level at her school, and had Calculus as a prerequisite. We have not been able to find a course that has this prerequisite within a university that allows upper level visiting students to take a course.

Does anyone know of a course being offered this summer? Preferably online, but at this point we are willing to consider all options (other than having her super senior till 2014 to take it at her own school!) (and they will not allow independent study.)

Mind you, the kid has enough credits for the degree, but needs this specific course for her major.

Thanks for the replies- will check out Berkley & Stanford, also MIT, though I think their online classes are non-credit. Penn State requires 60 credits taken prior at PSU for its online classes. For on site suggestions- she will be in the Philly area this summer-commutable to central NJ. Thanks & keep suggestions coming please!

Perhaps any large state university is likely to have a calculus-based statistics course in the summer (e.g. Rutgers). Rarely, community colleges offer calculus-based statistics courses. Whether any such course is a good match for the requirement needs to be checked at her school.

Required courses offered only once every two years seems like a problematic feature at a college / major.

D has submitted several courses for approval, all denied, including Berkeley. Suffice it to say we are very disappointed. Evidently the problem (of offering a required course once every four semesters) is not limited to her major. Univ has invested $millions into building campaign- beautiful campus, but students are falling through the cracks! Would like to vent, but am biting my tongue. D continues to search out & submit courses; at this point it may roll to fall if they permit her degree to stay on hold. Will post outcome / update.
