Need Help with my College List

Hello, All! I am a rising senior at a Jesuit high school in Ohio and I’d like to know what you think about my list of colleges.

GPA: 4.0/3.8
ACT: 32
Intended Major(s): Engineering or Computer Science

Sports: Track
Clubs: Pallbearer Ministry, Homeless Ministry, Movers For Others, Pre-Health Society
Volunteering: Local Hospital, Tutor nearby Elementary/Middle School

AP Classes:
Sophomore - AP US History
Junior - AP Government, AP Lit, AP Chemistry
Senior - AP Physics, AP Calc BC, AP Euro, Ap Computer Science

List of Schools:

Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Temple, Drexel, Villanova, Lehigh, Boston U, Northeastern, WPI

I would prefer a larger school in close proximity to an urban area. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Have you run the NPC for the schools that you listed? Are they within your family’s ability to pay. The University of San Francisco, (Jesuit), has a CS major, a 3+2 physics/engineering degree.

What’s your financial situation? Most on your list will be tough to get money from (for merit or need). Is that ok? Can you afford the quarter of a million dollars some of those might cost?

If you like co-op schools like Drexel and Northeastern, you should be applying to U of Cincinnati, which was the original pioneer of co-op education and will give you similar opportunities for an in-state public price tag, and matching your “larger school in an urban area” criteria as well. Also consider U of Pittsburgh.
