Need Life Changing Advice

Hello,

So I am going through a tough time and need some advice regarding a situation I am in. I currently work 40 hours per week and there’s no way around that and I am attending University of Texas at Dallas. Basically I was wondering if I should transfer to an online university such as University of Phoenix or WGU or any of the other number of online schools. Majoring in Computer Science atm and about have 50 credit hours.

How do it hold up compared to a online degree? I find online degree would be better for the working adult versus the traditional schooling and I might do better since I have more time to work around my schedule. However online school do not offer CS, just Information Tech. which I do not mind switching too.

A friend told me to switch since at the current rate( 2 classes a semester) I will graduate 5 years from now or I can take an online class were I will have more time, flexibility, be able to work on individual projects that might help with a job later and will be able to go full time and possibly graduate in 2 or 3 years.

I am just worried I will regret this decision without doing any research and keep running into the same circles.

Please let me know even if its just a sentence or two. I really am looking for some quality feedback.

I’m in a similar boat, but you might be better off finding a state school that offers online degree programs. You know, a school that isn’t just 100% online. That way,you get the ease of scheduling and also get a real degree from an older institution if you think that is important.

UFL and FSU offer mostly online BS CompSci degrees. You just need to get the Physics Labs and Math out of the way somehow first.

Thank you for replying. I will look into UFL and FSU and see if that fits my needs. I appreciate you taking the time to write.

FSU, university of florida, Arizona state, all have C.S. programs and they all better than the for schools you mentioned. here is the trick: you want a school that has a physical campus. i am in the same situation as you. while i would love to go to school everyday, it is just no longer doable. not trying to bring you down man, but at 40 it is hard to attend campus. online is juts much more accommodating.
