Need Prep Advice

I am taking the ACT on the 27th of this month. I have never seen a practice test, looked at a question, or even opened a book about it. What should I do, buy, etc between now and then to best prepare me for the test?

Thanks

I just bought the Princeton Review ACT book, read the entire thing in 2 days, and did the practice tests.

Ended up with a 35 : )

The book may be a little outdated though. It doesn't have any of the "sentence insertion" questions where they ask you whether to add a sentence to the paragraph or not and choose an appropriate reason. Apart from that, the book was reasonably helpful and very easy to read.

This is just my opinion, but you should see it for yourself and give it a try.

First: go to act.org and download the practice test. It's free, and a good way to give yourself a diagnostic.

I'd suggest you buy mcgraw hill's 10 ACT books and use the tests in there to get the timing down, but you don't really have a lot of time, so I'd say just go buy the Real ACT Study Guide book and take the three tests in there. If you do have time though, get the mcgraw hill book because that really helped me with the timing.

My tip is to ALWAYS time yourself when you're doing practice tests. Give yourself the allotted time on each section because if you don't get used to the timing, that has the potential to really have an impact on your score.

Anyways, I went the diagnostic test, Mcgraw Hill, Real ACT route....ended up with a 33 composite and 10 essay.

Best of luck!!
