Also, I’m not confident in what I can consider a reach/match/safety. Although I have the grades and scores for top schools, I still feel like it’s a gamble to apply, especially after seeing all the stuff on College Confidential haha.
Now, the top 10 or so colleges are a crap shoot for pretty much everyone. How far can I get from those hyper-selective schools in the rankings before I can feel pretty confident about applying? Even top 20 or top 40 seems really selective to me. I don’t want to end up as one of those stories of kids who aimed too high and got rejected everywhere.
Of course, I’m pretty sure I can fall back on OU. I know a lot of people who have gone there virtually for free with a ton of credit.
Right. Especially if you are NMS. 5 years free, right? That means that you could possibly pick up a masters there for free as well. Or two.
Evidently, they have a top meteorology program.
@whenhen has experience with OU and could probably tell you more about which programs there are stellar and which ones aren’t so much.
What books do you like to read?
Are you considering grad school? New College of Florida is great preparation for grad school and not that hard to get in to or that expensive.
What about an intense multidisciplinary science program (that you could finish in 3 years if you wanted to)? Then consider ISP at Northwestern.
If you’re really undecided, a LAC may be best for you, and there may be a ton of options, depending on all sorts of stuff.
Are you open to uni abroad? Canada, UK, Ireland, the Netherlands? All in English.
Definitely look in to what you can afford, fin aid, etc.
