need suggestions more in my reach

To the OP: rather the focus on specific schools right now, look to visit and experience different types of schools, to see what you enjoy and what you don’t like. See if you can visit (1) urban universities; (2) more suburban/smaller city universities; (3) smaller liberal arts colleges in both suburban and more remote settings. Think about whether you want a school with big sports culture, where game day is a big deal, whether you want to participate in Greek life and it is the center of the campus culture, or want a school where it is less prominent. What about the type of students? Do you want to be around quirky artsy kids? Or a mix? Or do you prefer a generally preppier vibe? If you aren’t interested in engineering, then a smaller school could offer the coursework you need. Some schools have business programs, others do not, but most people will agree (I think), that a business major is not necessary to go into business as a career.

Once you have a sense of your preferences, you can start to look at schools that fit into those categories, and that is where the experienced parents here can help more.

As a parent of two boys, I wouldn’t say you are indecisive – I would say you don’t have the experience yet to identify your priorities. Start figuring out the things that matter, and you will find yourself narrowing your list.

Good luck!

@Midwestmomofboys Thank you,you are extremely helpful!

Why does everyone keep suggesting I should study abroad or take a gap year? Not taking any AP classes doesn’t mean I’m stupid or can’t handle college.I am going to go to college in 2018 it just depends on which one I choose.I made this thread to ask for college suggestions not to be ridiculed and told I am immature ,it is very demeaning and upsetting.

It has nothing to do with the AP classes. You just seem to be buffeted by others in your evaluation process, and don’t seem to have any self-awareness of what YOU actually want.

Hey, I read through this whole thing. In also a senior going through the college process, so I enjoy reading these. I’ve been done applying to schools for weeks now, and I’m actually going to choose a school really soon so we’re in two waaaay different places.

Your list is like how mine was over the summer; long, all over the place. colleges.niche.com is a great tool to help you narrow down. On there, you’ll see school reviews from students who attend those schools. It helped me bring my list down from 15 schools to 6.

You don’t have to “love” school in order to attend college. You attend college so that you have the chance to make maximum salary. (Not saying that you don’t make money working blue collar jobs)
