I am currently attending a community college, but I am thinking about transferring in the fall to a school that has a good animation program. I don't want to move outside of the southeast since that is where I have lived all of my life and where almost all of my family lives. Also, I am paying my own way through college, so I am not sure if I would be able to afford some of the more expensive animation schools. I definitely need to find a program that would offer academic scholarships! My question is this. What would be the best and most affordable animation school in the southeast for a transfer student like myself? I have looked at SCAD's website, but I also saw some really bad reviews of them online, which kind of worried me. Unfortunately, I missed this year's deadline for applying to Ringling, so I would have to apply next year if I chose to transfer there. Does anyone have any opinions about which of these two schools is better? Also, I would love to know of any other art/animation school suggestions in the southeast that I may not know about.

For animation I think Ringling

There was also some good advice offered somewhere here on this subject.
and I think it came directly from Pixar.
Don’t think computer programs, by the time you’re out of school the programs will have moved on there will always be something new coming out.
Think drawing skills, concepts, drawing skills and more drawing skills.
If you can do good imagery you can alway catch up on the programs so don’t waste too much time learning whatever the current animation programs are.
And as someone who has worked in the computer art field this is excellent advice.
