Negotiation for financial aid

Will Berkeley appeal my financial aid package if another prestigious school gave me more money? I want to negotiate, but I'm not sure if they do that.

i'm curious about this too. i was awarded the regents scholarship, but, despite demonstrating need, was awarded only 1k per year. maybe it has something to do with me being an international. but yes, is there any way to appeal for more fin aid, or negotiate?

Well, I'm telling you what UCLA says to do, but as both schools are public and UC's, their methods have to be similar. Write an appeal letter. Smilies06...you should try asking them to "match" or "come closer" to the package a similarly ranked school offered you. TahsinKhan...your case is odd. Whether they give you full financial support of just $1000 depends on your EFC. If you believe your EFC is low compared to a year's expenses at UCB, you should also write a letter of appeal.

Hope that helps.
