Hey there, if you are reading this thread then I'm really thankful for that. I want a bit of suggestion from you all.

Well, I want to study Computer Engineering at US University for the fall term 2013. As I was interested for US universities only after March, I missed almost all of the good colleges. Still, I applied to Carroll University and Florida Institute of Technology. I was accepted with 50% and 40% of scholarship respectively. But then still, the expense I needed to pay were way more.

Therefore, I am searching for colleges that provides good scholarship and have any computer IT related majors. I am about to apply at SELU today. If you guys know any Universities/Colleges/CommunityColleges, with my criteria mentioned above (Like SELU), then I request whole heartily to help me out replying in this thread.

My SAT score is a crap. I got only 860 (CR + Math). I don’t know why was I that nervous at the exam time. I lose it all. I couldn’t really do what I was capable of.

My academics score as as below:
Grade IX :: 84%
Grade X :: 80%
Grade XI & XII :: 66%

Yea I got drastically down at the +2. Well, beside that, I am extremely good at ECA. I design and code websites, web application. I have taught myself CSS, PHP, Javascript and more. I do paintings. I love playing classical notes with my guitar. I am also an internet marketer and I own my sole hosting company that lies in the top ten hosting company of Asia.

So what you think would be good for me? I would really appreciate your suggestions.

Take a year off, take SATs again and shoot for at least 1350+ in composite. Apply again. Your grades from high school are not strong. Schools in the US want students who they think can handle their academic rigor. Their strongest source for information in that aspect is your high school GPA. May be you should write to them explaining why your GPA was so low. That is absolutely critical.

I highly doubt you can get a decent school at this time for the fall of 2013, specially with adequate funding. This is May already, when students send letters accepting the offers.

Thank you for your suggestion guys but I don’t think I will be doing SAT more as if I prolong for the next SAT I may lose many good colleges. Well, are there any colleges that provides at least 70% of scholarship and takes the decision contemplating the balance of ECA and college scores instead of SAT solely?

Many second tier colleges and some colleges in bottom half of first tier colleges give scholarship in basis of SAT score and GPA only. I regret to inform you that you are left with only those aforementioned colleges as many colleges which boast to adopt holistic approach have their enrollment deadline gone, let alone application deadline.

Since you do not have good SAT Score and GPA, it is unlikely to get a kind of scholarship you demand.

However, there is a good college named Colby Sawyer( ranking is ok. I do not know whether it still accepts the application) which can provide you full tuition. The good thing about this college is it does not need SAT score and is not difficult to get in. The only disadvantage, however, is that it has very few majors and thus might not have major of your choice.

@Batuli. Thanks for that. I can see that I can apply to Colby-Sawyer via common app. Hence, there won’t be any hassles. What do you think about Clafin University?
