NESCAC Athletic Pull ED

@Zipsta You can submit a pre-read without test scores? I didn’t know that was possible.

There are sat optional schools in nescac. Bates comes to mind.

There are more test optional schools in Nescac than those that do require tests. However, some of the TO schools may require recruited athletes to submit test(s) in order to complete a pre-read. This can also vary within a school, e.g., by sport.

Test Optional Nescac schools:
Bates
Bowdoin
Colby
Conn College
Hamilton
Trinity
Wesleyan

Test scores required:
Amherst
Middlebury
Tufts
Williams

@ Acersaccharum, Yes, it is possible and my son did it. There a number of SAT/ACT test-optional schools including some good NESCAC schools. Here is a link that shows some of the Test-Optional schools in the USA https://www.niche.com/colleges/search/best-test-optional-colleges/ . I was even surprised that the University of Chicago is one of them. So if you are talking to coaches from any of those schools and your test scores are below the acceptable scores you can just submit your GPA. If you are getting recruited the coaches will let you know what you need to do. They will also look at the profile of the school you currently attend. You need to have a very favorable preread test scores or no test scores. When my son made his college application he checked the option not to submit test scores. I know there is one girl on YouTube who got into Bowdoin and she did not submit her test scores. This girl does not do any sports.

So, of course my D’s favorite schools want to see test scores, but thanks for the lists. Maybe time to add or re-think a few schools…
