I am looking into PhD programs for neural engineering, and have found several schools that are doing research that interest me. Here is the list of schools I've found thus far:

University of California -- San Diego
University of California -- Berkeley
California Insitute of Technology
Yale University
Rice University
Duke University
Georgia Tech
Johns Hopkins University
Boston University
Northwestern University
Purdue University
Columbia University
MIT
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Stanford University

I tried not to look at prestige when looking at the schools, I pretty much based my research for them off of articles I found interested through pubmed; however, after looking at the list, I'm thinking it may be too difficult to get into these schools. I will have my name published in two articles later this year, but they are in orthopedics, not neural engineering.

Anyone have any ideas of what schools would be 'easier' to get into? Wanna have a lot of options.

If you wanna know: I haven't taken the GRE yet (taking in July) and my undergrad GPA is 3.51 in biomedical engineering at Rose-Hulman.
