Neuropathy

Us old folks get lots of “ache and pain” advertising directed at us. One common one right now uses a description like this

"The treatment to increase blood flow utilizes a specialized low level light therapy (not to be confused with laser therapy) using light emitting diode technology. This technology was created by NASA to assist in increasing blood flow. "

for helping with neuropathy.

Yes I know it sounds familiar but lets not go there.

Anyway, I was wondering if there is a real life person out there that has tried such a treatment for Neuropathy and found it to be useful? or quackery? Thanks all

Have a ruptured disk in lower back (L5). Most of the time it’s fine but when it’s out of whack it’s excruciating. Have used a TENS muscle stimulant for yrs. It does a great job. Essentially, it’s pulsing shocks (leeds are attached). It does get blood flow to the area and helps. Not sure what TENS stands for but a doctor recommended it and I’ve used it as needed for 15 yrs.

I use Ben Gay and various patches (love Capsaicin) that also increase blood flow via the heat they generate.

TENS = Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.
