Neuroscience degree then to law school?

What do u think of majoring in neuroscience and then going to law school? I'm not sure which field I want to go into. I was originally going to go psychology major then law school. Any opinions?

That’s a great idea. That’ll give you an advantage over the English, Poli Sci, Philosophy (sorry beyphy), psych majors with your scientific training. This will give you an edge in the IP (Intellectual Property) side of things. You’ll find for instance that the attys who practice Patent Law were trained as engineers, etc, because they can understand the technical side of things much better.

Neuroscience is more of a graduate discipline, but the preparation for grad-level work in neuroscience (i.e. what many universities offer you instead of an actual bachelor’s in neuroscience) would serve you well, giving you logical/analytical training and skills which are of course what law schools like to see. As drax12 mentioned, IP is definitely a place where you could apply the knowledge you gain as an undergrad. Some law schools even allow you to do joint degrees or take classes in other departments, as a way of applying the law degree to more academic subjects. That might be something for you to look into for law school.

Agree with others - you’d make an interesting law school candidate.
