Ok so if anyone would mind responding to this post it would be greatly appreciated.

In short, I want to Major in Neuroscience and Minor in Psychology(Or even Double Major) while also completing the classes required to qualify for Pre-Med.

First, would that be possible here?
Second, how would the workload be?

Thanks.

I have the same question

1- there is NO psychology minor, so you'd either double major in psych or minor in something else. have you looked at cognitive science? it's a minor in the psych department. might intrigue you.

2- psychobio would be another major you might want to consider as it has many of the same reqs as neuro. but either major should easily take care of your premed reqs.

3- add up the number of required classes for neuro, psych major/other minor, and add about 7 for remaining GE's/university requirements. divide by 3.5 to see how many quarters it would take. if it can fit within 4 years without too much summer school, you should be fine. also, list out your required classes to see what you might be taking in any given quarter to determine if it's too much of a load.

It's possible; not easy, but possible. Neuroscience is a difficult major at UCLA. Actually, premed in general is pretty hard here. You will probably have to take summer classes and four classes at once a few quarters, which can be a lot of work at times. Just make sure to spread out your easy and hard classes. As in, don't take 3 hard classes and a GE; try doing 2 hard math/science classes with a humanities class and/or a GE attached to it. Honestly though, you have PLENTY of time to figure all that out. See how you adjust to the workload; people tend to change their minds/majors a lot.

majoring in neuroscience AND psychology is pretty stupid. don't do it because of two major reasons:

1) Psychobiology IS basically a hybrid major of psych and neuro

2) You can take a ton of psych classes (Just the ones you think would be interesting) for neuroscience electives.

**i honestly don't even think they allow double majoring in neuro and psych but i might be wrong about that. check before planning your classes.
