I'm done w/ junior year AP's! I have some things I'm gonna do differently for my APs next year.

1) banish Kaplan. I hate them, their books are so unrealistic.
2) play less counter-strike the weekend before the test so I don't skip school and cram like 15 hours the day before. I should probably just cut myself off from my computer for hours at a time to study.
3) not be afraid to switch out of APs with bad teachers.
4) start studying a few weeks in advance.
5) take actual notes in class and pay attention so I'm not stuck using only review books.

Despite these problems, I felt like I did very well on all my APs. I'm thinking 4s and 5s.

1) shoulda taken Euro anyway. I was afraid of taking it immediately after AP US but i realized I could have raped this years Euro test.
2)Fight even harder to get into AP courses I belong in but can't get into because other kids have higher grades than me (I didn't get into Econ even with a 4.3 Social Science department GPA)
3)Don't start studying the night before for self-study APs no matter how easy
4)Repeat number 3
5)Actually study for APs (which I can barely say I did)

When i skip school the day before the ap exams don't sleep in until 12:30. I probably could have gotten more studying done during and between classes than in that hour and a half i saved by not going to school, since school is out at 2:00.

Also, don't take two ap test on the same day. Especially if one or both of them require a lot of writting, that was so exhausting.

O yea I forgot to mention studying. I should try that concept next year.

1.) though im taking a lot of ap classes, ill probably just take ap chem and eng lit
2.) use barrons for notes and pr for questiosn
3.) start studying in april so i dont kill myself first week of may
4.) listen to what the teacher says.
5.) buy a 2007 test book early so that i have it before its gone off the shelves
6.) start sleeping.

1) Start studying for self-study APs in January/February. (I said this last year, but Euro/Stats turned out to be such a rush at the end, meaning I only got 7 hours of studying for Psych in).

2) I'm happy about this, and it's something that I learned from this year's APs. Don't let APs intimidate you...they aren't that bad. I took six exams this year (with only 2 AP classes; self-studied 4) and I thought it wasn't bad at all. I probably got a couple of 4's when I was aiming for 5's, but I think too many students get intimidated by AP.

3) Repeat 1.

4) Repeat 1.

5) Get more sleep during AP season, which will be possible if 1) was followed.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER BUY KAPLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
especially for AP US history!

In their AP US prep book, they have a list of terms and events for each unit, and how did they organize the list? in ALPHABETICAL ORDER!
a list of historical events in alphabetical order!

Stop telling yourself you are not going to procrastinate.. you know the gods of procrastinations are just whispering in your ear... (procrastinate procrastinate)

Seriously, most people keep on telling their selves that and it never works out... we can't run away from them.. O_O!!

These all sound like great ideas.. here are some of mine.

Study earlier especially over April break.

Buy test review books earlier. Read them earlier even if its on a skim. Go over the review book.

Don't leave too much to do the night before cause it will never get done.

basically like everyone else... don't procrastinate

Use spring break time to study...finish the major review then so I have less to look at during the actually test week

Don't use review books (I have been using Princeton), rather study my class notes and doing practice problems from my old tests

Strategically take exams that have a day in between each other so I don't get too worn out

Don't procrastinate

Buy AP Books during the summer. Going on Amazon right now to chose. Learn everything during the summer and sleep at school.

I have such a relaxed schedule next year. Only four classes in school which are AP so really don't need to fret. Some of you CCs are probably taking like 6 or 7 APs. I am happy I am not.

hehe only 2 AP classes next year (and AP Lit's a joke)...but I'll self-study 2-3 (hmm calc BC, maybe E&M since I'm already taking Mechanics, Psych, probably Bio). Anyway, resolutions include:

1.Actually study.
2. Actually read the reveiw books I buy (yes, I bought them last summer, and read them about a third of the way through, then quit until the night before).
3. Review Calc AB over the summer so I don't have to waste a semester reviewing old stuff an can move onto new stuff.
4. Relax...I was a little bit more worried about the tests than I should have been, and it took me like 30 mins or so into each test to loosen up and actually do well. (although you'd have never know about my anxiousness based on my practically non-existant study habits hehe)

well i have 4 AP's next year so im looking forward to my major changes

stop being so lazy. seriously i should not be a couch potato nemore

crack open ap books over the summer. thats a big def

get tutoring. MAJOR DEF especially for me in calc

try not to focus on one AP subject. balance...

actually do the strategies that the review books say. that pretty much helped in the world but i went waay too slow
