The board at UCF just voted to increase tuition by 15% at UCF. This means the tuition at UCF has tripled in five years and will only increase.

UF, FSU, UCF, USF, and, I think, FAU may all increase tuition by a max of 15%/year until around 2019, I think, when tuition should be on par w/ national average. The legislature didn’t dictate a tuition hike this year. Last year I think it was 8%, and then UCF, et.al., called their 7% increase a differential fee. (this brought total tuition up to the 15% cap). So, with no state tuition hike this year, it’s been totally left to each university. So, UCF will increase their tuition the full 15%. I imagine UF, FSU, etc to follow suit. I think UCF took the worst hit (or near the worst) in terms of the amount of state funding they lost this year.

Very frustrating, but it was expected.
