Pratt has just started work on a new design building that will house both Interior Design and Digital Design. It is a result of a contribution by a donor. For more information see: http://www.pratt.edu/news/

This is good news on more than one count. In addition to the new facilities, this is also further evidence that Pratt has been achieving one of the challenges that we were told about when we visited there with my daughter 6 years ago. At that time, Pratt had lost the long-term (family) sponsorship that had effectively helped to subsidize its operatoins. It was then (or around then, as I recall) in search of a new President, and one of the tasks was to find donors to support the institute including renovations of their facilities (the studios, including computer facilities, that we visited then were clearly in a need of an upgrade). However, when students and alumni see this kind of development success it really should give them cheer.

Taxguy,
Thanks for posting that post. There is also a brand new Pratt store opening up this month. State of the art for the students and surrounding artists' community. This info also can be found on the Pratt website.

Mackinaw,
The person running the Pratt store ran the one at RISD and the current President of Pratt also came from RISD.
