Agree. But for the controversial game that Andrew ended up winning in FJ, it could have been Amy and Sam tied at 2 wins and Andrew at 1. I do hope either Sam or Amy win, with a very slight edge to Sam.

Brava to the ToC winner!
Spoiler Alert
Guess that whole Romans/Hebrews debate is moot
Not sure spoiler alerts are necessary. It has aired in places already on network TV and folks have been forewarned to not check here if they are not ready to discuss (or see results).
Only aired at 7 pm in most west coast cities.
I understand that. Just don’t look here until it’s aired in your market if you don’t want to know the results. Even for people on the east coast, there are leaks out there before it airs if you really want to find things out. I just stay away.
This is what I have been doing. Also, I am frequently cooking when Jeopardy airs and do not get to watch it until later. I am careful to avoid this thread until after watching the show.
I do think that the stronger player won. I am amazed at how much all three of them know about such a wide range of topics.
Indeed, not necessary at all. Speaking for myself, I was using spoiler alerts to simply be reasonably accommodating, at no cost.
In any case, what a great series. There were so many personable champs, it was easy to be invested in a number of them. That made for a remarkably engaging tournament.
I’m having fun watching Cris’ run. 16 games! He’s in the top five for regular season winnings now. I was a little nervous last night when the woman seemed to be giving him a run for the money, but she faded.
I’m so glad Ken is still hosting. He does a great job.
Cris was really weak in the first round but came back roaring in Double Jeopardy.
And none of them understood the Prince Edward Island, where Anne of Green Gables lived, isn’t in the midwest of the US.
Or the more obvious clue that Anne of Green Gables was written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
But in fairness, I would have written “What is ?” since I never heard of this book or the author.
I knew the book but couldn’t come up with it. Glenn Close played Sarah in the movie (tv movie). I kept thinking “Willa Cather” but knew that wasn’t right.
But I did know it WASN’T Anne of Green Gables.
Nah, I’m pretty sure they all know where PEI is. But with that time ticking away and no answer at hand, the best bet is to scrawl out the first answer that comes to mind.
Would they have accepted the answer if someone had written “What is Sara Plain and Tall”?
That is the name of the novel, didn’t the question ask for the name of the character?
Watched with librarian daughter who was visiting–she knew the answer in a second. She was livid when the champion wrote “Ann”, instead of “Anne”. We all watched “Anne with and E”.
What’s your question / issue?
What vs Who? (Long established that the correct question word is irrelevant)
Sara vs Sarah? (words don’t have to be spelled correctly, but they must be phonetically correct)
Sara, Plain and Tall vs Sara? (Likely allowed as “Plain and Tall” is also a descriptor adding additional info)
Ranting at the acceptance of such an answer is a luxury of the armchair player. The players on set know not to sweat such stuff.
That said, there is a disproportionate number of librarians among J! contestants, and the production team urges women to audition. Perhaps you might suggest your daughter try out!
My question is: Would “Sara Plain and Tall” be accepted as the correct answer, since that is the book title and not the character’s name.
I said nothing about the spelling of Sara vs Sarah
I have no “issue”—we’re just Jeopardy fans here chewing the fat. I think you may be assuming something in my post that isn’t there and isn’t intended? Just having fun here!
PS–I am a little confused–I know we aren’t allowed to question the decisions of moderators here, I get that, but @skieurope, did you post as a moderator or as a participant in the discussion?? I don’t know whether this response is OK since I don’t know what “hat” you’re wearing.
I was truly probing to understand what your question was. That was all
As a participant. I am not moderating this thread. Posts as a moderator are in yellow.
Thank you. On the interwebs it’s difficult to determine tone–just wanted to be sure it was clear that my tone was not misinterpreted. And wanted to be sure I was not interpreting your tone incorrectly as well. I obviously don’t know what “super moderator” means.
