The article particularly mentions that Yale revised program requires travel abroad and how MBA programs are trying to distinguish themselves. I just thought this was odd as I was browsing around. Is this a start of a new trend?

USC's done this for a while now. UCLA's program has seen a focus on the global perspective as well.

Companies are becoming more and more transnational. It would seem smart for business schools to adapt to Corporate America.

They are in no way adapting to corporate america

so what are they adapting to?

global trends, corporate america isnt necessarily setting the standards for global trade. And as far as innovations related to medicine and manufacturing, we are lagging behind other established, yet poor, countries

what about part time mba students who can't leave the country due to their employment status, among other things?

I don't know about that. What's one of the biggest changes we're seeing in all MBA schools? An ethics course due to the major bankrupcties and fraud in Corporate America.

Some B-schools are implementing Background screens on every applicant because their customers want it.

A matter of supply and demand. The students are the product. Corporate America is bringing the demand, not medical or manufacturing overseas.
