New member:) Chance me for Cornell, NYU + some others, pls :)

I'm a Washington resident, sophomore at a WA community college.

My cumulative GPA right now is a 3.51 and I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

I'd apply for Fall quarter 2012/Fall semester 2012.

What would be my chances for

Cornell University

New York University

University of Washington - Seattle

Tulane University

University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

University of Iowa

Iowa State University

University of Tennessee

Colorado State University

I don't think my GPA will go up by much until the end of Fall quarter and I'm pretty sure that my chances to get into both Cornell and NYU are pretty slim but I'm still curious. (:

Thanks guys!

Well besides GPA, you haven’t really given any other criteria… it would help to give class rank, standardized tests, courses, etc. Right now with a 3.51, Cornell is a reach.

I’d say that a 3.51 GPA would definitely make places like Cornell and NYU reaches. U of M you stand a decent chance.

Thanks for the input!

My community college doesn’t do a class rank. My SAT score was 1560, and my HS GPA was a 3.0 - however, I didn’t start HS in the States until my junior year b/c I immigrated from Europe in 2009. I had a 3.5 and a 3.8 in my junior year and my college stats so far are from Running Start in my senior year… except for my grades for Summer '11.

My courses at my CC were the following:

Fall '10:

Acct201: C-
Bus101: B
Engl254: B-

Winter '11:

Pols202: A
Pols101: A-
P E 180: A

Vice President’s List

Spring '11:

Engl101: A-
Chem110: A
Math 99: B- (doesn’t count for my GPA b/c it’s not a college course)

Summer '11:

Engl102: A
Psyc100: A
Anth206: A

President’s List

My GPA is basically only so low b/c I screwed up my first quarter. I guess I had kind of a culture shock.

Thanks homeskillette!! (: I really like both UW and the U of M.

I forgot - I’m double majoring in Political Science and Journalism.
