it says you have to include a cover letter but what exactly are they asking for? Like a letter that says why you wanna be in honors? Not to mention they ask for a whole bunch of other stuff like writting samples school forms (even if they already have them) more recommendations... it never ends.

mc: I guess they figure if you want to be in the honors program you should be able to handle this?? D is graduating this spring from NP in the honors program. The seminar classes are great and it will look great on your resume. she is working on her thesis for honors now. But, there is extra work and comittment involved, which explains the extra effort of applying.

You can use writing samples from a class, I think she used some from AP English. The cover letter should be an introductory letter, I think she stated her plans, why she wanted to be in honors and such. not a huge thing. Letters of rec. were just another copy of the same for the college app, I think the honors dept. doesn’t have access to the letters with the gen. app.
We visited and got to sit in on an honors class which was a deciding factor.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
