One of the casualties of the growth of our old forum was that we lost the ability to easily see recent posts for the entire set of topics. On this forum we now have the "New Posts" feature, which shows the most recent posts across all forums. With the large number of forums here, we felt this was an important feature and a fun way for members to find topics that might interest them without trying to look in each forum.

So... how is it working out? Have you found some threads that way that you might not have spotted otherwise? Comments/suggestions?

I love it! It's now so easy to read what interests me and ignore the rest.
Also like the personal control panel with subscriptions to certain threads.
Really enjoying the whole makeover - lots more whistles and bells!

Yes, I like the 'new posts' features. But what I like the most (and will like even more when we get more lengthy posts) is the little blue arrow that takes you to the end of the thread. I don't want the posts in reverse order because I like to read them in sequential order. But I hated having to scroll down to the bottom of a long thread when I only wanted to read the last few that were new.

BTW, the time is still messed up for me. I have tried everything and it goes back to the same time. Right now it's 5:09 here, and the clock at the bottom says 4:17. So it's not only that I can't get the hour correct but the minutes are off too. However, I can live with that if I have to.

I love the new posts feature! I'm a very frequent visitor here, so it's easier for me to see what the newest posts are than to search each forum for what I haven't already read.

YOU can make the text larger on any website! At the top of your browser, under the "View" header, there is "text zoom" which allows you to make the text any size you wish.

You can also do this in your browser's Preferences/Appearance/Fonts (in Netscape) or Preferences/Language/Fonts (in Explorer-shudder!) ---if you wish a more permanent solution to the fine print problem.

You can also overide the web site's choice of font (in Preferences) if that makes things easier on your eyes. Font's with serifs are easier for many people to read.

Just wanted to add my voice to the appreciation for setting up the new site. It's great and once everyone gets used to the new format, I think you'll find it even more successful than the old. Thank you, Roger, and also to all the moderators for providing us with a wonderful and informative website. :)

One tweak we added a couple of days ago in the New Posts (and all thread listings) is the red star to those threads that you have participated in - this makes it easy to scan a long list of new posts and easily spot those threads where someone may have replied to something you posted.
