New student question about Deposits and Deadlines!

<p>Hey I've been admitted to NU and I've already the $400 deposit online by the status check website. But I have a few very important questions on paying housing deposits and letting the Financial Aid office know that I will be accepting everything on my Aid Award Notice.</p>

<p>1) First of all, in the letters we've received it says the $200 housing deposit is due May 1st, but it says we will be able to pay ONLINE after May 11th? I'm confused by this statement; does it mean that we need to mail in the deposit in order to be considered for housing or like priority housing? I'm an international student and I've had my transcripts and that type of thing lost numerous times by int'l mail so I'm a little hesitant to send in a check by mail.</p>

<p>2) ALSO there were two copies of my financial aid award notifications in the package I got, and it says we're supposed to send a copy to the finaid office indicating whether or not we accept the aid yeah? Is there a deadline for this? Can we just take it with us when we enroll in September or does it have to be mailed in also?</p>

<p>these questions are pretty important; i'd suggest calling the financial aid and housing offices for clarification</p>

<p>I think international students should mail their housing deposits because our deadline is May 1st while May 25th for American students.</p>

<p>Well the thing is I am actually a US citizen. So i think i'm not "technically" an international student? I'm an American living abroad. does that count as international?</p>
