new wave due?

annakimwta,

when did people receive midyear reports? I sent mine in online the day before my semester was over.. early January.. I didn't get an official midyear report letter..

oh no! panic! haha..

wait, holdddddd on. haha stressed0ut AND scarletstar89, I GOT INTO UCSB too!!!!!!!!!! :) yayyyyy. but seriously, I agree with u stressed0ut, hopefully we all wont be attending that school next year.... hopefully we'll be attending a MUCH MUCH better school like USC :D

Stressed0ut- oh no you are fine. I think they sent those out to kids who hadnt sent theirs in already, cause i got that letter in like Feb. :) dont worry

lol yay bonding time! hahaha

and i'm with ya stressed0ut, i didn't get an official request either.
remember when everyone was saying that was a good thing? lol what happened to that?! i'm going to go back and read those posts so i can make myself feel better lol like that'll help.

drove 20 miles just to check my mail... nothing there. sweet.

How about my mailbox froze last Thursday due to an excess amount of snow and ice in Pennsylvania?

I couldn't open it for the life of me. I was freaking out in front of it for 30 minutes... my neighbors were about to call the cops :o

hahaha. you just made me smile a little.

lol you think you had it bad driving 20 miles for nothing??

i didnt get a mid year report :[ and i havent hear from usc yet!
if i dont get into usc i have to move all the way to san francisco from socal.
if you didnt get a mid year report, does that mean that you are either total reject or guaranteed accepted?

for people who received the mid year report, can you guys give me your stats? like sat, gpa, and extra curricular and stuff? i want to see which range of people received the letters

first of all, it means nothing. second of all, please read around before posting.

lol yeah, jouraynalism is right, it ultimately really doesn't mean much. But just cause you didnt get one doesnt mean u will get rejected!!! dont worry :) And did u send in your mid year reports right after your semester was over? If so, that is probably why you didnt receive one. If you have a good GPA and good SAT scores and u didnt get a mid year report request, there's no need to worry. However, if u have bad grades and sat scores and u didnt receive requests, THEN id be worried.... but you prob. have good stats

SC only asks applicants MYR's for those who may be borderlined...

anyone could've submitted their MYR's

annakimwta i read this following quote you posted

[cause i talked to one of the USC admissions officers and they said most of the students they are thinking about admitting are requested to send in their mid year grade reports, unless they have already been decided on as a reject.]

and started freaking out. haha
i didnt send in my mid year report, because my counselor told me that i dont have to send in the mid year report unless i get a letter.
but it seems like i was supposed to? im so paranoid right now

so many poeple heard from usc already from my school
my stats were 2100 (cr 630 math 770 wrt 700) and 3.69 unweighted gpa with good extracurriculars and excellent rec letters.

im so scaredddd it seems like i should've received mid year report

to be totally honest...i would be considered borderline...nothing superfantastic about my grades or sat scores....courses are def difficult(quite a few AP classes)....EC's are excellent but score wise i was expecting this and unfortunately i dint do so well for 1st semester...ah well.

and ummm conf123...u fear moving away...i'm the exact opposite =P if i dont get into usc, most prolly i'l be heading to Rutgers (state univ of NJ) and that will VERY sad.

then send one. go to your online account and send them in online too.

conf123,

My SATs are similar to yours, but my uw GPA is 4.0 . I was asked to submit my midyears in like early February..and was accepted in the March 5 wave. It's all too sporadaic to predict anything. I say the best thing is to just hold your horses for another week and half.. I know it's sooooo hard.

Well, it's like I said before, why would the committee request a document to further burden themselves unless there was hope of redemption? It doesn't make sense that they would ask for the MDY for a student who, regardless of perfect grades, had no chance of getting in. Of course, they might also be asking for it from students who are pretty much in but just to make sure that they have kept up their grades. Does that make sense to anybody?

mainevent > i like the way u think...i'd have to agree with you on that point...however my pessimistic side jumps in to tell me that maybe i'm not 'good enough' yet and that they are expecting to see some type of miraculous preformance on my MDY which will push me in....but nonetheless i'm gonna go with what u say.

mainevent..Yes it does. In my case, I am thinking it was the latter. I am pretty sure seeing 4 more A's on my midyear report wasn't what got me into USC, they just wanted to make sure .I hadn't, for whatever reason, dropped in my academic performance.

sonti, are you saying that your senior grades weren't that great? And, hksanhja, which program were you accepted into?
